Why the Self Help Group?

The idea came up in the end of 2018, when it became clear that people who are suffering from a multitude of symptoms and compensations/maskings are often left alone, consequently often feel alone without getting grip on their situation; a hard life!

A few talks outside of sessions then led to the idea that great benefit and help can be acchieved by bringing them together in a small group on a two weekly basis: to exchnage their experiences, to exchange ways of coping, to exchange progress, and to learn a practical form of cranio - which proves to be relaxing, but cannot do it on its own.

Therefore we aim to incorporate contributions form other disciplines as well: nutrition plays a big role; psychology as well; we may benefit from inviting specialists.

The group is in preparation per January 2019. Two venues are possible: in Koper and Ljubljana, on weekday evenings which will be announced as soon as we have per group 6 to 8 people attending.

You will learn to work on your own (for instance) back aches, headaches, and other problems. Simple (duo)exercises show you how to work with basic craniosacral techniques to offer relief and maintain relaxation during the work. Verbal exchange and lecture are part of each evening. You are kindly invited to join this ca. 2-3 hour workshop to explore the best ways into relaxation and relief.  Although we may agree to follow the proposed structure it is possible to adapt to the groups' wishes. You may have a first workshop and from then on decide on continuation according to your wish, regular evaluation of the groups' effectivity (and the need for changes of program) will be regularly.

Don't expect a lazy afternoon or evening, the workshops are relaxing but at the same time intensive; certainly the workshop will help you already when learning the basics. We will talk about a space of (self)trust, about issues you wish to work on, and develop exercises and techniques that will work for you easily.

The self help group does not replace any kind of individual treatment. The language is English, and there is of course time for translation.

Looking forward to see you! With kind regards, Stan Coenders
